Member Participation Opportunities
WiCAL will thrive and succeed through guidance and input from its membership. To assure input and member voice, we have several participation opportunities for members to both provide and receive valuable information.
WiCAL Council:
The Council is the leadership voice of WiCAL. Serving in a similar capacity as a board of directors, the Council is the decision-making body for the WiCAL Division. Full WiCAL members are eligible to serve terms on the Council. Created following the 2007 WHCA Bylaws amendment, the Council and the WHCA Board of Directors will have cross-representation to assure communications and coordination, while maintaining autonomy.
WiCAL Executive Committee:
The WiCAL Council elects representatives to serve on the Executive Committee. This body both advises the Council and implements its directives. To assure communications and coordination of efforts, there is cross representation (in an ex officio capacity) between the WiCAL and WHCA Executive Committees.
Quality Advancement Committee:
This QAC is an action and information committee that serves to assist the membership in continuing operational and clinical quality improvement. The QAC also serves as the forum to address regulatory and compliance issues. The WiCAL QAC will work both independent and in conjunction with the WHCA Quality Advancement Committee.
Policy Committee:
The policy committee is the advisory forum for the development of the WiCAL regulatory and legislative agenda. This committee provides input to the Council on legislative, regulatory and payment issues. This committee also addresses managed care/Family Care issues impacting members.
In addition to the specific WiCAL Committee above, WiCAL members are encouraged to participation in the many standing and ad hoc WHCA committees, including:
- Education
- Bylaws
- Public Relations
- Political Action Liaison
- Independent Providers
- Payment for Services
- WHCA Budget
- Association Member
